A bleak Ghazni Province seems to offer little, but a Pentagon study says it may have among the world’s largest deposits of lithium.
WASHINGTON — The United States has discovered nearly $1 trillion in untapped mineral deposits in Afghanistan, far beyond any previously known reserves and enough to fundamentally alter the Afghan economy and perhaps the Afghan war itself, according to senior American government officials.

Wow a trillion dollars worth is quite an incentive, so we have been fighting to support the special interest who are trying to promote a phony "green jobs" agenda? Does this administration want to replace the Afghan government to ensure we will have first shot at mining rights and then to force Afghanistan to sign a "Carbon Tax" treaty?
We need a Congressional hearing into this right away, it would be amazing if it were true because this administration and this Congress has been so free of corruption.

Great article here, Elray. Problem is right now there is so much going on that this may not get much play. I happen to think you could be on to something, though I would like to see any U.S. Administration pull the wool over the Afghan's eyes. I will be blunt, if I may, they are much too clever for us in the U.S.
ReplyDeleteThat's funny Elray. I especially like the line "because this administration and this Congress has been so free of corruption", I spewed coffee all over the office walls.
ReplyDeleteThanks Mrs. AL- The story is starting to gain traction because the NYT has that article about the price of Lithium futures being on the rise.
